Abstract Through the concept of smart cities, the growth of urban landscapes has ushered in a new era of connectedness, efficiency and creativity. Modern urban environments use cutting-edge technologies to maximize energy, public safety, transit and other aspects of city life. Smarter, more accessible and more efficient healthcare delivery is made possible by the integration of cutting-edge digital technology into healthcare systems, which is at the core of this revolution. The Internet of Things (IoT) and Medical Cyber-Physical Systems (MCPS) are essential elements of contemporary healthcare systems. In order to enable real-time data collection and transmission to centralized repositories, the integration entails incorporating IoT-enabled sensors in wearables and medical devices. After the data is gathered, data analytics and machine learning algorithms are used to extract actionable insights that allow for remote monitoring, decision assistance and tailored patient care. Robust security procedures safeguard patient information and guarantee regulatory compliance, while interoperability and integration methods facilitate smooth communication and data sharing across various devices and systems. Smart cities can improve patient outcomes, enhance healthcare delivery and advance the well-being of urban populations in a world where connectivity is growing. This can be achieved through the integration of MCPS and IoT. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, V. Subramaniyaswamy, G Revathy, Logesh Ravi, N.
