Abstract The amalgamation of healthcare, sustainability, and internet of things (Io T) technology offers a signifi¬cant prospect for effectively tackling urgent issues in the provision of healthcare services in metropolitan areas inside smart cities. The present research investigates the incorporation of IoT technology in order to advance environmental sustainability, augment healthcare accessibility, and boost health outcomes within the framework of smart city endeavors. This study seeks to enhance our comprehension of the interconnections between green healthcare and smart city development by employing a comprehensive strategy that includes healthcare delivery, technology innovation, urban planning, and community in¬volvement. The research taxonomy encompasses multiple dimensions of the study, such as the examina¬tion of environmental sustainability in healthcare, the use of IoT applications, the integration of smart city infrastructure, policy and governance considerations, community participation, health equity, and effect evaluation. This research aims to clarify the intricacies of green healthcare in smart cities and develop strategies for improving sustainability, equality, and resilience in urban healthcare systems by analyzing these characteristics. This study's findings represent a valuable contribution to the academic conversation surrounding green healthcare, IoT technology, and the development of smart cities. The study provides practical recommendations that may be implemented by policymakers, healthcare prac¬titioners, technology developers, urban planners, and community stakeholders. This project seeks to facilitate sustainable transformation in healthcare delivery and enhance holistic well-being in the rapidly urbanizing settings of smart cities through the promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration, stakeholder involvement, and evidence-based decision-making. © 2024, IGI Global.
