Abstract Smart cities, smart homes, schools, hospitals, transportation, and military operations are just a few examples of the innovative uses of IoT. Regarding healthcare, the Internet of Things (IoT) apps shine. They allow for secure, real-time remote patient monitoring, improving people's lives. This article examines how the Internet of Things has recently been used in healthcare monitoring systems. Examining the significance of IoT healthcare systems and the advantages of healthcare tech that utilizes the IoT are the main topics of this essay. In this article, we conduct a literature analysis to offer a thorough overview of current research on healthcare monitoring systems that rely on the Internet of Things. This study delves into the fascinating topic of how AI is revolutionizing healthcare systems built on the IoT. Incorporating artificial intelligence into the IoT frameworks presents a promising horizon for improving patient care, diagnosis, treatment, and overall healthcare management. This is because the healthcare industry is continuously evolving due to technological breakthroughs. This study delves into the current IoT deployments in healthcare and how AI could improve these systems to boost efficiency, accuracy, and patient outcomes. This research pinpoints critical areas where AI-driven IoT technologies might revolutionize healthcare delivery. This is accomplished through a comprehensive literature review, case studies, and analysis of developing trends. It also discusses the difficulties and ethical considerations involved in implementing such technologies, including the protection of personal information and the confidentiality of data. More accessible, efficient, and personalized healthcare solutions may be possible as a result of these results, demonstrating that AI has the potential to enhance healthcare systems based on the Internet of Things. © 2024 IEEE.
