Abstract The integration of cutting-edge/emerging technologies, like artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and quantum computing, provides a transformative approach to addressing the pressing challenges of achieving a smart and sustainable environment. In this work, we discuss the synergistic potential of these technologies to revolutionize environmental management and sustainability efforts (or to achieve maximum impact). It discusses use cases in smart cities, ecosystem conservation, and climate change mitigation to illustrate the real-world applications of this integrated approach. This chapter begins by highlighting the growing importance of creating a sustainable environment in the face of increasing global challenges, such as climate change, resource depletion, and urbanization. It emphasizes the need for innovative and effective solutions to address these issues. This work also discusses the role of each technology within this integration, for example, AI is used to enable predictive environmental modeling and optimize resource management. Blockchain technology ensures transparent and secure data management, particularly in areas like supply chain tracking and carbon trading. IoT facilitates real-time data collection and monitoring for adaptive environmental solutions. Cloud computing provides the scalability and data management capabilities required for large-scale projects.
