Abstract	With the development of science and technology, BIM technology is applied more and more widely in the field of construction, and the development of BIM has brought profound changes to the construction industry. Especially in the context of today's digital construction, the application of BIM technology in the building construction process has strongly promoted the digital development of the construction industry. Taking Jiuquan City of Gansu Province in Hexi Corridor as an example, this paper analyzes the development history and characteristics of BIM technology, and mainly discusses the modeling application research of BIM technology in the design stage, construction stage and late operation and maintenance stage of urban building construction. By collecting the relevant data information of different stages of the building, establishing a three-dimensional visual model, comprehensively and dynamically tracking all kinds of problems encountered in the implementation process of the building, making timely adjustments, effectively guiding the urban construction, and laying a good foundation for the smart city. © 2023 The Authors.
