Abstract The development of information technologies and their implementation in areas of industry, social life, and the environment opens up more and more questions and possibilities of their use. Recently, the concept of intelligent healthcare has come to the fore, both at home and abroad. Intelligent healthcare responds to a new generation of information technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, cloud computing, modeling and simulations, blockchain, and increasingly popular Artificial Intelligence (AI). Several authors have already addressed this issue, for example Alfred Winter, Luca Catarinucci, Stephanie B. Baker, and many others, given the topicality of the topic. Traditional healthcare is being transformed into a more modern form because of digitalization, making healthcare delivery more efficient. The main objective of this chapter is to highlight the current possibilities of the concept of smart healthcare. In this chapter, the authors first introduce the technologies that support the building of smart healthcare in several important areas, and then discuss the existing problems of smart healthcare and propose solutions to them. The adoption of new practices and technologies is a key factor in improving the quality of healthcare delivery, so in the conclusion of the chapter, the authors assess the future prospects of smart healthcare in a Smart City. © The Author(s).
