Abstract In the context of rapid urbanization and an aging population, the integration of intelligent home medical devices into smart city frameworks has emerged as a critical solution to address the growing healthcare challenges in China. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the current state, challenges, and future trends of intelligent home medical devices within the smart city ecosystem, with a specific focus on China's unique healthcare landscape. With the methods of literature review, case analysis and trend prediction, this study deeply analyzes the application status, challenges and future development trend of smart home medical equipment in China, especially its application potential and market prospect in chronic disease management and aging society. By leveraging advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, and 5G, these devices offer real-time health monitoring, data-driven decision-making, and personalized healthcare services, significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility and efficiency. However, the industry faces challenges including high costs, data security concerns, and uneven market development. This research highlights the importance of integrating intelligent home medical devices into urban health systems to create more sustainable and inclusive healthcare models, particularly for China's elderly population and individuals with chronic diseases. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders to develop supportive policies and market strategies, ultimately contributing to the development of smarter and healthier cities. Future trends, such as integration, modularization, and enhanced data security, are crucial for optimizing healthcare delivery and ensuring the sustainable development of urban health systems in China.
