Abstract As technology is advancing day-by-day, more and more devices are being connected to the internet to bring them to par with the advancing technology. This is when the Internet of Things (IoT) comes to practice in order to digitalize the existing technologies with the advancing world. This advancement has already acquired various aspects and will slowly become the controller of the remaining aspects as well. IoT basically aims at providing smart and feasible solutions to existing real-life problems. There are many issues prevailing in society and cleanliness and hygiene has been a major concern. The problem of throwing garbage on the street and in public places is a general summary for all developing countries and here mainly will eventually affect the environment and create some unsanitary conditions. In order to deal with this problem, we have decided to develop a garbage management system through which we aim at creating awareness among the citizens about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. Also, we will have to create awareness about proper waste disposal on the basis of wet waste and dry waste for easy and efficient waste management and proper disposal of the waste. The key technology that we will be using in this project is IoT. Different types of sensors and different colour LEDs can be used so that the system is easy to use and understood by each and every citizen belonging to different age groups and literacy. Ultimate aim of this paper to provide a smart system at low cost which will be helpful in making surroundings clean, healthy and pollution free. © 2024 IEEE.
