Abstract Human intelligence, also known as human cognition, is a perception of the surrounding environment or world that includes aspects of memory, thinking, and learning. Besides, it is one type of process in which data are received through senses and processed. The 21st century has unending sources of data that the human brain cannot handle, so we need tools to analyze this massive amount of data and process it for our own advantage. Today, we have tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) models that, when properly trained, can perform analysis akin to that of a human. Healthcare is currently one of the largest industries, and it generates a lot of data every day from research, medical procedures, automated diagnosis, and so on. AI and ML are already being used to analyze data and provide a better healthcare outcome. Additionally, AI and ML can be used to support local city governance by enhancing transportation, energy efficiency, pollution prevention, and city safety and to ensure order in cities. This book chapter describes the use of AI and ML models in healthcare and building a smart city. © 2024 Scrivener Publishing LLC.
