Abstract With the rapid development of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) such as AI, Big Data, IOT, Cloud computing provides crucial technological support for the construction of smart cities. Addressing the practical requirements of urban refined managment, the utilization of Mixed Reality (MR) technology for interactive progress management in construction projects is instrumental in enhancing project management efficiency. However, current MR software and hardware has flaws when dealing with the interactive visualization of large-scale and highly detailed Building Information Models (BIM). Real-Time, continuous, and smooth visualization of complex BIM models remains a challenge, limiting the practical application of related technologies. This paper proposes a cloud-client decoupling architecture for complex BIM model interactive visualization in miniaturization and lowcost MR devices. The approach in this paper provides a feasible technological path for high-performance rendering of complex BIM models within the existing MR software and hardware environment. It offers a new method for refined managment and maintenance of construction project progress. © 2024 ACM.
