Abstract An area of the intelligent transport system is distinguished by its capacity to work in tandem with a smart transportation system to calculate, store, and rapidly deliver lag time messages to automobiles. Traditional vehicle networks have a range of resource deployment and issues due to a lack of scalability, flexibility, and connectivity. Linked vehicles have played a crucial role in the development of smart transportation infrastructure for autos in recent years as the smart city age has made it necessary. The wireless sensor network created by connected vehicle technology (CVT) uses a number of different wireless technologies, including RF, Wi-Fi, LTE, LORA, and others. Vehicles that are connected to the internet allow for V2V and V2I communication. In order for connected cars to function, sharing resources is essential. LTE V2V and V2I connectivity, as well as DSRC, facilitate this process. The content that transmits between linked vehicles is known as real-time information or data. Delays in real-time data transfer diminish WSN performance. There are several approaches for reducing the transmission delay time between connected automobiles. Because of the high mobility and frequent topological changes, transmission is delayed. Car-following models are also described in this article, and they play an important part in Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS). C-ITS promises to improve road safety, traffic efficiency, and environmental sustainability by allowing vehicles to interact with one another and with transportation infrastructure. Car-following models are useful for facilitating cooperative interactions and coordination among automobiles in C-ITS. © 2023 IEEE.
