Abstract The solutions that have been provided till date for combining communications of Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) in LTE networks mainly require some additional functionality and consume most of the valuable resources very early during the initial phases of discovery. In this research paper the utilization of important resources is reduced efficiently in a LTE network by proposing a V2V scheme that is able to discover vehicle users in the environment. The solution proposed removes a huge portion of V2V traffic discovery and processing which generally involves vehicles and passengers in Vehicular ad-hoc Networks (VANET). The proposed solution makes use of prior information gathered from RSUs (road side unit) for user of vehicles in a given area. Also this paper creates a model for analysis of other vehicles present in case of a highway scenario. All the results shown in the paper are validated using simulations, the results demonstrate that the scheme proposed is effective and also shows low latency can be achieved. © 2019 IEEE.
