Abstract The rapid global urbanization phenomenon demands innovative solutions to urban challenges, and this abstract explores the applications and implications of smart city and urbanization systems, illuminating their role in shaping sustainable, efficient, and liveable urban environments. In the ever-evolving landscape of smart cities, a blend of innovation and human convenience emerges. Embracing futuristic technologies like IoT sensors, autonomous vehicles, and intelligent traffic management systems, these cities aim to untangle the knots of traffic, breathe cleaner air and make getting around a breeze. It’s not just about technology; it’s about creating a city that flows harmoniously, putting the well-being and efficiency of its inhabitants at the forefront. Furthermore, smart grids, renewable energy integration, and energy-efficient infrastructure optimize urban energy consumption, while smart waste management systems streamline collection and contribute to environmental sustainability. Healthcare in smart cities is evolving with telemedicine and wearable health tech, bolstered by data analytics for proactive public health responses. Enhanced public safety through data-driven law enforcement and citizen engagement platforms further enriches urban life. Despite the myriad benefits, challenges related to privacy, data security and financial investments require careful consideration. In conclusion, smart city and urbanization systems offer holistic urban transformation, redefining cities as hubs of innovation and progress while ensuring a brighter, interconnected urban future. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Susheela Hooda, Vidhu Kiran, Rupali Gill, Durgesh Srivastava, Jabar H.
