Abstract Water quality monitoring is an important way to monitor the environment, control pollution and protect water resources, and its research has great practical significance for environmental protection. Aiming at the disadvantages of existing water quality monitoring methods such as high node power consumption and small coverage, this paper proposes an online water quality monitoring system scheme using NB-IOT protocol communication. The prototype system shows that the system can meet the water quality monitoring needs of Bolong Lake. © 2020 IEEE.
