Abstract Smart garbaging is a technology-driven solution that aims to revolutionize waste management systems by integrating smart sensors, internet of things (IoT) devices, data analytics as well as cloud computing. With the growing urbanization and population, traditional waste management practices have become inefficient and unsustainable. The garbage must be adequately managed for human well-being and environmental protection. Smart garbage management system is an innovative approach towards efficient waste management by utilizing advanced technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. It offers a novel approach to tackle these challenges by optimizing waste collection, sorting, and recycling processes. The system is designed to collect, segregate, and dispose of waste in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way. It involves the use of smart sensors and bin fill-level monitoring systems that provide real-time information about the garbage level, enabling waste collectors to plan their collection routes and optimize their schedules. This system monitors the garbage bin and informs us about the level of garbage collected in the garbage bins via a web page. This web page is built to show the status to the user monitoring it. Thus this system helps to keep the city clean by informing about the garbage levels of the bins. This system has the potential to reduce the environmental impact of waste, enhance public health and hygiene, and create more sustainable communities. This paper provides an overview of the current state of smart garbaging technology, its potential benefits and challenges, and future research directions. © 2023 IEEE.
