Abstract The Internet of Things (loT) has become an important aspect in various domains such as smart cities, healthcare and industrial revolution. There are various concerns of energy consumption ever since the widespread of IOT due to their imitation on the use of resources when it comes to lOT based Wireless sensor Networks, energy efficiency is essential to ensure optimal and cost-effective deployment. This study is a review of energy-efficient lOT based Wireless sensor Networks (WSN), mail focusing on the methods and techniques that can be employed to optimize energy consumption of lOT devices. This study covers various aspects of energy-optimal lOT based WSN including machine leaning approaches and energy efficient communication protocols. © 2023 IEEE.
