Abstract Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are expanding rapidly due to the rise ofloTdevices, enabling applications from smart cities to environmental monitoring. However, energy consumption remains a critical issue, especially in remote areas where battery replacement is impractical. This chapter explores energy-efficient WSN strategies to create sustainable IoT solutions, focusing on AI-based data processing, adaptive communication protocols, and low-power hardware design. It covers key techniques like duty cycling, data aggregation, and edge computing to optimize energy usage without sacrificing performance. Additionally, it highlights real-world examples and insights into future trends and challenges.
