Abstract Cyber-physical systems (CPS) integrate computational elements with physical entities and are prevalent across diverse domains. Effective data collection, analysis, and management are important to enhancing their potential. CPS data collection involves gathering information from physical and digital sources through sensing, digitization, and communication. Sensors are responsible for sensing the properties of the physical world, circumstances, and machines. CPS converts data into digital format before transmitting it to the computational components. The data analysis in CPS employs statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining to process collected data, identify patterns, and make predictions. It includes data cleaning, transformation, analysis, interpretation, and visualization. Data management in CPS involves storage, maintenance, security, and governance. Data is stored efficiently in databases or warehouses, undergoes regular maintenance for integrity, and is protected through encryption and access control. Governance establishes policies and procedures for data use and management. These processes enable intelligent decision-making and informed predictions, ensuring data integrity and security. Successful implementation of data collection, analysis, and management enhances the efficiency and performance of CPS, nurturing their widespread adoption. Transportation, healthcare, energy, and smart city applications can benefit from these advancements, contributing to a more intelligent, interconnected future. By addressing challenges and exploring future directions, this chapter expands the understanding and practice of data collection, analysis, and management in intelligent CPS.
