| Abstract | The rapid advancement and widespread adoption of wireless sensor networks (WSN) and the Internet of Things (IoT) have revolutionized various sectors, including healthcare, smart homes, industrial automation, and smart cities. These technologies enable real-time monitoring, data collection, and automation, providing significant benefits in efficiency and decision-making. However, the integration of WSN and IoT also introduces complex security and privacy challenges that vary across different application domains. This study conducts a systematic review to identify and analyse the key security and privacy issues in WSN and IoT applications, using a PRISMA-based approach to select relevant and high-quality studies. The findings reveal that each application area faces unique challenges, such as data privacy in healthcare, device heterogeneity in industrial automation, and scalability in smart cities. The analysis highlights the need for tailored security solutions that address the specific requirements of each domain.
