Abstract Internet of things is very dynamic and growing field that is very important for sustainable development of Smart Cities. Green IoT is a field that deal with natural resources of the energy to make the environment clean and green. It is also deal with control of CO2 emission which further reduce the green house effect and can be considered as most important issue for green environment. Various green sources of energy are solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy, piezoelectric energy, mechanical energy etc. Green IoT enables the trillion of devices and objects to communicate with each other. This kind of huge network requires very huge amount of energy for the communication. To make the efficient use of energy various techniques has been proposed till now. In this paper some of energy efficient techniques has been discussed and presented as systematic review. © 2021 IEEE.
