Abstract In the context of smart city construction, this study explores the synergistic effect of blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies in improving accounting transparency and financial management efficiency. Through the application of interdisciplinary methods, it reveals the application potential of the fusion of the two in smart city data governance, smart contract execution, and decision support system optimization, providing a new technical path for smart city financial management. The experimental results show that the synergistic application of blockchain and AI significantly improves data processing speed and accuracy, reduces operational costs, and enhances enterprise competitiveness. The study points out that despite challenges such as technology adaptation, the technology convergence provides an innovative path and practical solution for digital transformation in accounting and financial management. © 2025 The Authors.
