Abstract Smart cities around the world are adapting new forms of developmental activities because of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The IoT is the integration of different hardware, networks, and sensors that enables data collection and sharing from these things efficiently. There are several such devices with medical sensors in used in it. Also despite continuous monitoring for 24 hours, there may be situations when the doctor is not alerted at time of emergency. Exchanging data and information with experts, worried family members, and relatives may also be challenging, although the technology to enhance these characteristics is now accessible. But most individuals in underdeveloped countries like India cannot afford it. Therefore, the solutions to these problems may be as simple. It is by adding the functionalities to already existing IoT devices that lack them. We can create healthcare systems that are more knowledgeable, reliable, and predictable by making developments in IoT and cyber-physical devices. By fusing various computer vision, machine, and deep learning techniques, the IoT significantly supports the smart healthcare sector. It provides prompt, accurate device services that automatically detect and track patient issues. This paper will evaluate how IoT devices with AI and ML applications are applied in the healthcare sector. Also how databases help to give information about the thing which can help in saving a person’s life and help them in providing medical facilities on time. This research will serve as a benchmark for understanding the IoT’s impact on the health sector in smart cities. © 2024 Scrivener Publishing LLC.
