Abstract The rise of smart city technology has created a network of interconnected devices aimed at improving citizens' quality of life. However, this has brought about numerous challenges in ensuring a secure environment for these devices to interact and provide services without compromising privacy and confidentiality. One major concern is the security of IoT devices against cyber and data attacks. Past research has shown that the current environment cannot guarantee the safety and protection of data from cybercrime, given the widespread and constant internet connectivity. This calls for an intelligent security framework to ensure the safety and proper functioning of smart devices. The model is evaluated based on transactional storage efficiency and threat detection in real-time attack scenarios, such as Botnets, DDoS, and Malware. The experiments show that implementing smart contracts between devices and the system prevents internal attacks through transparency and automation of service guarantees. The AI mechanism also effectively identifies potential attacks with a low false positive rate. A detailed evaluation of the framework's performance metrics, including its design approach and substitution possibilities, is also provided. © 2024 IEEE.
