| Abstract | The term Internet of things (IoT) refers to the rapidly growing number of sophisticated devices—now in the billions—that can communicate and collaborate with others across the world via the system/web and be monitored and controlled remotely. The Internet of things consists only of smart sensors and other devices. Climate data, for example, is collected at the operational level of IoT. IoT opens up new possibilities for cities to use data to manage traffic, reduce pollution, improve foundations, and keep citizens safe and clean. When we discuss the impanation element of IoT, we can see its application in a variety of areas of our lives, from a simple coffee machine in our home to the notion of smart cities, all of which are based on IoT. As a result, the need for IoT developers is increasing. When it comes to smart cities, many items in a city generate a large quantity of data, and this data may be useful to the people who live there, making their lives more pleasant and safe. A city's transformation into a “smart city” necessitates expansion and automation in a variety of areas. This mechanised may be performed by connecting sensors and electrical gadgets to the Internet in order to share data and automate activities. The strategy supports modernity by addressing concerns such as smart garbage management, smart parking, and smart traffic control, to name a few. As a result of the Internet of things, cities are becoming wealthier and healthier places to live. It results in significant cost savings. It creates huge cost-cutting, revenue-generating, operational efficiency, and overall customer experience and value prospects. We addressed the elements in this study that are simply the primary factors that can be improved with the usage of IoT when transforming a city into a smart city.
