Abstract The issue of Smart Bin is an evolving problem in the developing nations, as evidenced by India's ongoing struggle with unsightly roads and inadequate trash management. This study introduces a flexible waste collection system that addresses two key elements: the Internet of Things (IoT) and strategically positioned street cameras. Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, developed with machine learning algorithms can analyze the amount of waste present both inside and outside of bins, allowing for the creation of increased efficient collection routes. At the same time, street cameras offer real-time visual information to support the findings of sensors. These cameras offer live visual data, which not only confirms the results of the IoT sensors but also helps investigates particular problems like illegal dumping and obstacles that could impede waste collection activities. Bin levels are constantly monitored by sensors, which transmit data for centralized tracking. Waste assembly is validated by cameras. Our research calls for an integrated strategy to trash management in developing nations, which has the potential to significantly improve the cleanliness of streets, minimize environmental harm, and enhance public health. This integrated system holds the potential to significantly enhance waste management procedures through the use of sensors that provide continuous monitoring and data transmission for centralized tracking, as well as cameras that validate garbage assembly. The possible advantages include cleaner streets, a less environmental impact, and improved public health, providing a comprehensive solution to the growing problem of smart bin shortage that many nations face due to inadequate waste management systems. © 2023 IEEE.
