Abstract	The Internet of Things (IoT) is viewed as an ecosystem that consists of intelligent devices with sensors, networks, and processing technologies that integrate and cooperate to create a setting that offers intelligent services to end users. Through the deployment of intelligent services throughout society, IoT improves human existence in several ways and enables us to engage in any activity at any time, anywhere. Numerous IoT-based applications are used to connect all of these devices and services. Monitoring followed by quick decision-making for efficient management is a significant result of IoT applications. Even though the application domains have various driving forces, they all have the same overarching objective: to offer intelligent services that improve people’s quality of life. Applications for the Internet of Things adhere to Quality of Service (QoS) measurements. Smart services in IoT applications that address QoS parameters, including security, cost, service time, energy usage, dependability, and availability, should fulfill user expectations. Healthcare, environmental monitoring, smart cities, commercial, industrial, and general techniques are among the primary IoT application concepts discussed in this chapter. © 2024 selection and editorial matter, Alex Khang.
