Abstract The worldwide architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) business has so far made extensive use of building and infrastructure information modelling (BIM). The fundamental benefit of BIM, a project-based digital three-dimensional model, is that it fosters improved collaboration and communication among project participants, leading to increased production, better cost management, and a decrease in risks and mistakes. Over the years, there have been a number of technological developments that have improved the capabilities and uses of building information modelling (BIM) in the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector. This simplifies the construction process, reduces costs, saves time and improves the sustainability of the project. This paper will discuss the technical progress of BIM technology in the past ten years, factors Promoting BIM Development and the factors of BIM in urban development. © 2023 IEEE.
