Abstract This paper analyses the various problems that are there in a large metropolitan city and provide solutions to some of its concerns. The objective of the model is to design perfect system to analyze the Air quality and measure it which is well suited for a Smart City Infrastructure. Here an IoT based Indoor air quality monitoring system and a security system which uses RFID is demonstrated. The system relies on Arduino IDE, ESP8266 Node MCU Wi-Fi Module, MFRC522 reader, RFID tags DHT22 Temperature, Humidity Sensor and MQ2 Gas Sensor and ThingSpeak is an Open Source IoT Web API service that enables us to gather, view, and analyze real-time data streams in the cloud. By registering, it can build a Channel and name it, along with the fields where it wants to display sensor data. It is designed to measure the air pollutants levels, which include CO, CO2 and other pollutants and the results are outputted in the form of graphs and it also checks whether the scanned Ids are valid or not with the help of RFID reader. This paper can monitor the air quality all the time and the results can been seen from anywhere in anytime all the person needs are the credentials for the channel, a device for browsing the net and a working internet connection. It can also be used for Remote Monitoring purposes of various parameters like Humidity, Temperature and Gas levels without Human Intervention. Along with the use of the Thingview App and the same channel ID to access the data remotely from your phone. Since each of the RFID tags have unique id and all the authorized ids are stored in the databases of the module which easily determines the Unauthorized tags which will help in security. The Node MCU is a low cost device supports WIFI networks and well suited for IoT[9] based system. © 2023 IEEE.
