Abstract	Changing world and rapid innovation necessitates the need for a cloud-based software platform that integrates and centralizes IoT devices. This paper discusses the advantages of IoT platform in smart lighting for smart cities, not only from an energy conservation standpoint, but also from a multidimensional perspective to consider the implementation of automation and extended use-cases, including how a software platform can pave the way for future scalability and decarbonization. © 2023 IEEE.
