Abstract	Intelligent lighting systems controlled by the Internet of Things (IoT) play a key role in optimizing energy efficiency and comfort in modern building infrastructure. These systems enable remote management and real-time automation of lighting through connected devices using sensors for light, occupancy, and ambient conditions. This report explores the main components of an IoT-based lighting system, explaining how the integration of IoT technologies improves energy consumption control and allows intelligent adaptation of lighting according to user needs and environmental factors. The paper also discusses potential challenges related to the implementation of such systems, as well as the benefits for sustainable development and smart cities. © 2024 IEEE.
