Abstract Smart cities have become a popular issue all around the world in the information and communication technology (ICT) age. In brief, a smart city is a place where networks and services are more adaptable, efficient, and sustainable as a result of the integration of the latest 5G, Internet-of-Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to improve operations and provide an entirely new horizon of living and working environment for its residents. The use of AI in the development of smart education systems is gaining traction in India as a means of revolutionizing the educational system. To improve students' learning experiences, schools are beginning to change from traditional teaching approaches to smart education. This chapter builds a smart education system model based on AI techniques using the improved self-adaptive leap-frogging algorithm (ISALFA) for model optimization. The performance of the students is evaluated using the logical decision tree algorithm (LDTA). Students are 96.44% satisfied with this instructional technique, according to the findings.
