Abstract	This paper presents the use of a batteryless LoRaWAN ultrasonic sensor node for the realization of LoRaWAN based smart garbage collection, to be deployed for waste management in the Smart Cities context. In particular, the paper presents the possibility of using LoRaWAN waterproof ultrasonic sensor nodes powered by solar harvester systems to measure the level of waste in the waste bin and to cut harmful emissions from garbage trucks by reducing thier fuel consumption and in this way the frequency of the waste collection procedure. © 2022 IEEE.
