Abstract ICT governance refers to the effective investment and use of ICT to guide organizations to achieve their strategic goals. A smart city can be described as an entity that provides a better quality of life for citizens to realize their needs. Several kinds of researches investigated ICT governance in private and public organizations and smart governance in a smart city environment, but very few of them were about ICT governance in a smart city context, especially in reference to Brazilian cities. Therefore, this research in progress aims to build an ICT governance good practices catalog for Brazilian smart city context. This ongoing research introduces its motivations, smart city and ICT governance theoretical background, the methodology research design, and concluding remarks. This work contributes to improving knowledge-based on the research field. © 2020 ACM.
