Abstract The study reported by this article aimed to identify applications designed to use smart cities' infrastructures to support the mobility of impaired people. A systematic review was performed based on a search of the literature. A total of nine articles were identified by this systematic review. These articles aimed to help the collecting of accessibility data, to support the navigation of impaired people, to propose smart parking for impaired people and to present a smart semaphore. The number of identified articles is not very representative within the total of articles related to smart cities and the described applications present a low maturity level and lack of assessment results, since only two articles report trials involving real users. © 2021 The Authors.
