Abstract In this chapter we will try to present a conceptual approach, reflected in a model, that investigates the possibilities of digital twin computing within urban entrepreneurship and tactical urbanism which eventually serves theoretically the discourse of Digital Twin Computing in the context of Urban Intelligence. This approach besides its technological improvement aspects, combines theoretical concepts and a model based practical application framework to enhance urban intelligence and community participation in smart city-oriented circumstances. The suggested model is organized into three interconnected stages: Comprehensive urban data analytics, Collaborative Urban Intervention Design, and Adaptive Implementation and Scaling. The features of digital twin computing support each step of urban planning, enabling a resilient and flexible approach. The Comprehensive Urban Data Analysis approach, following the prospect framework, encompasses gathering and analyzing diverse urban data. The key advantage of digital twin computing in this particular situation would be its capacity to analyze and visualize real-time data, providing a detailed awareness of urban dynamics. In the sense of Collaborative Urban Intervention Design, based on data-driven insights, this part promotes a co-design process that involves a variety of stakeholders in the design of urban interventions. This stage leverages the synergistic capabilities of digital twin platforms, integrating urban inhabitants, business owners, city planners, and regulating elements in a collective virtual setting. It would allow stakeholders to examine these scenarios as well as outcomes before executing them physically. The last phase of the concept highlights the practical execution of the co-designed urban interventions, with a particular emphasis on adaptability and scalability. This adaptable strategy safeguards that the urban projects maintain their responsiveness to the ever-changing urban needs and challenges. The aforementioned model presents digital twin computing as a crucial component in the advancement of smart cities, serving to connect the distinction between theoretical urban planning and actual urban growth. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
