Abstract Micromobility provides a key to the design and implementation of sustainable solutions through enhancements in safety and resource utilization efficiency. Various smart applications, safety-related and information services can only be provided through a comprehensive vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) network and a vehicular cloud integrated solution. Micromobility exhibits tremendous potential in the unique smart city environment, where access to public transport services is often a concern. Scalable and customizable solutions to concentrate commuters for easy access to public transport hubs will be an important objective for enhancing efficiency in both energy consumption and travel within a smart city. This paper proposes a prognostics approach for sustainable micromobility management through optimization of appropriate V2I and V2V communication systems by using artificial intelligence for adaptive modulation and self-cognizant prognostics in order to solve the challenges associated with tackling parking and road congestion issues in a sustainable smart city environment.
