| Abstract | Smart Cities are an evolving concept of a set of technologies contributing to the overall simplification of processes within the city using the Internet of Things. This topic is more relevant now than ever before thanks to the availability of such technologies to the general public and low initial costs. We research the possibility of using Smart Delivery boxes to create more effective last-mile delivery services while reducing costs and protecting the environment at the same time. Our calculations show considerable benefits to both society and the environment. The research was done for the Czech Republic and the Czech postal operator - the Czech Post. © 2022 IEEE. |
