Abstract SecureGuard presents an intelligent IoT based home security solution tailored to combat rising burglary rates in hotspot areas. This paper details the development of an innovative home security website that integrates facial recognition, PIN code verification, and machine learning algorithms. Through a structured methodology, the solution offers robust authentication and predictive analysis capabilities, significantly enhancing home protection. We have presented a detailed design and development of Secure-Guard using a 3-layered IoT solution architecture. Our prototype demonstrates the potential of this solution in securing homes and contributing to smart city development, promoting sustainability. Additionally, we summarized a list of issues related to this smart home security solution, including social, economic, and ethical considerations. © 2024 IEEE.
