Abstract The existing driver reputation management system, constrained by outdated regulations, suffers from issues like fraudulent manipulation of driver points, obscured driver histories, slow performance, and data leakage vulnerabilities compromising public road safety and personal data integrity. This paper introduces a blockchain-based driver reputation management system integrating the Interplanetary File System (IPFS), machine learning, a dynamic reputation calculation algorithm, and cryptographic encryption. The implementation results in enhanced accuracy in tracking driver performances, improved public and road safety, and more reliable driver assessments. This innovative approach not only addresses inefficiencies in traditional systems but also offers a scalable, secure solution for transportation management in smart cities, providing a nuanced, real-time evaluation of driver behaviour. ©2024 IEEE.
