Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) has proven its importance almost in every field like healthcare, agriculture, transportation and smart cities. It enables the communications among various objects and human beings. In the healthcare sector IoT allows remote diagnostic of the patient by transmitting vital information of the patient in real-time. Thus, patients can get benefitted from the expert opinions of the doctors. An IoT based health monitoring model E-Dispensary has been developed. This system can transfer the essential physiological parameters of the patient to the doctor in real time. In the past, telemonitoring makes it possible to decrease the number of hospitalizations. Therefore, the proposed IoT based E-Dispensary will help a patient to communicate with doctor from the remote location. Through the video conferencing facility, the doctor can now interact with patient and if required doctor can deliver the drug to the patient through the infusion pump. Therefore, the remote patient monitoring will allow to reduce the unnecessary visits of a patient in the hospital and allows the doctors to access the patient data in real-time. This is an IoT based solution which will surely help the healthcare industry and relative of the patient to monitor the patient in real-time. © 2024 IEEE.
