Abstract Smart building is a vital part in the development of the smart city framework. Using intelligent solutions, smart building can reduce energy consumption and enhance safety and security of the building to establish a sustainable environment. Smart campus has attracted attention of the education providers as they aim to offer a quality learning environment for their students and staffs. Most of studies concentrated on using smart building technologies in conventional buildings rather than campuses very often. With the advancement of 5G networking and the related smart technologies, the interconnection between the people, devices and campus environment has been reshaped with digital solutions. This article reviews the associated building management technologies and applications in smart campus and their impacts to the operation of facilities on campus. © 2023 IEEE.
