Abstract The key ideas of smart buildings (SB) and smart facilities management (SFM) are at the forefront of the effort to improve inhabitants' quality of life via the combined use of technology for information and communication. But SFM faces obstacles from the current network design, such as limited bandwidth, increased latency, and insufficient support for an abundance of the web of Things (IoT) items. With its superior network services, chopping capabilities, and low latency that support real-time operational efficiency, 5G technology has great potential for the future. Furthermore, via dramatically lowering energy usage and restructuring current applications to better line with sustainability objectives, 5G has the chance to promote a more sustainable future. This paper evaluates the benefits and drawbacks of using 5G technology across a range of SFM use cases, offering insightful information on a thorough plan for governing bodies to implement 5G technology. With regards to the 5G arrangement procedure for Singapore, it frames the strategic methodology for Store network the board contextual analysis projects drove in the 5G modern BIM Lab. Past these SFM endeavors, the lab is focused on making imaginative 5G use cases in a joint effort with a great many modern accomplices. It has additionally executed an instructive program to further develop understudy association and furnish mid-vocation people with the apparatuses they need to extend their scope of capacities and exploit 5G innovation. This study gives valuable data to the two scholastics and industry on the future headways and development of SFM frameworks by means of the utilization of 5G organizations. It underlines that it is so essential to help preparing programs that assist organizations with accomplishing better expectations of authoritative adequacy while capitalizing on 5G innovation. It likewise features the quest for progressively aggressive natural objectives. © 2023 IEEE.
