Abstract With improvements in measuring and digital technologies, the growth of IoTbased smart cities has speeded up, combining a wide range of electronic devices to make cities more useful. To make a city better, though, you need more than just good technology. You also need tools and smart processes that work well. During this change, a number of trends and problems have come to light, especially when it comes to using IoT-based technologies for long-term urban growth. Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a major player in this field and is getting a lot of attention. It’s interesting how well it works with machine learning and deep learning algorithms, but it seems like not enough work has been put into making these methods work best for smart cities. Improving these technologies has a huge amount of potential to make daily tasks easier, save time, and make things run more smoothly overall. Still, this growth comes with problems, especially when it comes to real-time applications, security holes, and the threat of attackers or hackers. When combined with IoT, blockchain technology has become a good way to deal with these security issues. Because blockchain’s record system is decentralized and can’t be changed, it offers higher security, data accuracy, and openness. When blockchain is used with IoT devices, it makes data transfers safer by lowering the risks of unauthorized access or data corruption. Adding this feature makes sure that data sent between devices in a smart city network stays safe and can’t be changed. These secure smart city networks can be used for establishing networks of sustainable autonomous vehicles. Blockchain also improves the performance of IoT by making decentralized data handling more efficient. It makes it easy for devices to talk to each other without any problems and keeps data’s authenticity and purity. However, combining blockchain with IoT needs careful thought, taking into account things like scale, connectivity, and processing waste to make sure it works well in the complex smart city environment. In the end, combining blockchain and IoT for smart city growth is a strategy that works better together and is effective for sustainable mobility. It not only improves performance but also makes security stronger, creating a more dependable, open, and strong city infrastructure ready for long-term growth and new ideas of autonomous mobility. © 2025 Scrivener Publishing LLC.
