Abstract In this paper, a quad-band dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with dual-polarization characteristics for RFEH applications is stated. A spiral facet approach has been investigated and it is employed on four faces of the proposed DRA for obtaining multi-band characteristics. The antenna with four spiral facets on the left-bottom-top and rear surfaces offers better results over all other multi-facet combinations, and that design is considered the optimized one. A rectangularly shaped dielectric resonator (13×11×6.3 mm3) has been chosen for designing a DRA on a low-cost FR4 substrate (66×68×1.6 mm3). The proposed antenna covers 5.0 GHz, 5.5 GHz, 5.8 GHz, and 6.2 GHz bands. The proposed spiral facet technique offers an additional feature of providing Omni-directional characteristics. © 2024 IEEE.
