Abstract Video surveillance is used for analyzing the traffic system and also for controlling it. The proposed work analyses the image and helps in locating the people who violates the rules to be followed in case of traffic. Image analysis is necessary as conventional systems fail in analyzing huge amount of images. The proposed model helps in managing traffic by providing diversion details in case of traffic and also helps in identifying the people who are violating the rules. The traffic rules that most of the people fail to follow includes not using helmet during bike riding, signal crossing when the traffic is there and so on. These incidents are identified using both camera as well as sensors for detection of an individual when the police is not available. Followed by this, extraction of details using the RTO database can be done to have a better smart city and to avoid issues during the traffic. © 2022 IEEE.
