Abstract This research paper explores the integration of cutting-edge computer vision technologies in the domain of traffic monitoring to revolutionize traditional methods of traffic management. As urbanization and vehicular density continue to rise, the demand for efficient and intelligent traffic management systems becomes increasingly imperative. The study investigates the deployment of new technologies that have not been fully harnessed, coupled with enhancements to conventional methods, to create a comprehensive and adaptable traffic monitoring system. The paper delves into the potential of computer vision techniques for the enhancement of smart city applications. Furthermore, the research explores how these advancements can be seamlessly integrated with existing infrastructure to augment and refine conventional traffic management strategies. In addition to introducing novel technologies, the research emphasizes the importance of optimizing the utilization of existing resources. By upgrading conventional methods through the incorporation of computer vision, the paper outlines a holistic approach to traffic management that maximizes efficiency, reduces congestion, and enhances overall transportation system performance. Through a severe combination of theoretical frameworks and case studies this research contributes to the ongoing discourse on intelligent transportation systems. The findings not only highlight the potential of computer vision in the realm of traffic monitoring but also offer actionable insights for policymakers, urban planners, and transportation authorities seeking to enhance the effectiveness of traffic management in the face of evolving urban landscapes. © 2024 IEEE.
