Abstract Rapid urbanization in developing countries presents significant governance challenges, including socio- economic inequalities, environmental sustainability issues, and infrastructure deficiencies. Emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) offer transformative solutions for inclusive and sustainable urban governance. Smart city initiatives leverage these technologies to enhance service delivery, optimize infrastructure, and foster transparent decision- making, aligning with global sustainability efforts like the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This chapter explores digital inclusion, partnerships, and data- driven governance to bridge the digital divide and promote equitable growth. It recommends smart infrastructure, climate resilience, and participatory governance to create inclusive, resilient cities. © 2025, IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved.
