Abstract	The Internet of Things (IoT) is envisaged to enhance the living standards with better use of resources and assets. IoT is expected to infiltrate virtually all aspects of our daily life and is a complete package that can assist in sustainable living of the people. Making everything smart facilitates better living, increased protection, cleaner surroundings, time saving mechanisms and peaceful neighborhood. The IoT promises a great future for the internet. Envisioned with the aim to leverage the benefits of IoT and understand its applicability in day-to-day life, this paper, contributes the IoT applications, components, challenges and amalgamation with the latest trends like Blockchain and recommender system. © 2022 IEEE.
