Abstract Industry 4.0 is transforming all manufacturing, communication, transportation, and healthcare. Here are some examples of how Industry 4.0 is transforming these sectors: Manufacturing: Industry 4.0 is enabling the development of smart factories that make use of cutting-edge technology such as IoT, big data, and artificial intelligence. These plants can enhance production processes, minimize waste, and boost efficiency. Digital twin simulations, additive manufacturing, and collaborative robots are some of the core technologies employed in Industry 4.0 manufacturing. Communication: Industry 4.0 is altering the design and operation of communication systems. Smart communication networks can adapt to changing conditions and deliver real-time data and insights. In the context of 5G, for example, Industry 4.0 enables the development of smart cities and other intelligent infrastructure that can improve efficiency and quality of life. Transportation: Business 4.0 is revolutionizing the transportation business by making it more efficient and environmentally friendly. Autonomous vehicles, intelligent traffic systems, and real-time data analytics are just a few of the ways Industry 4.0 is transforming transportation. Transportation businesses can decrease costs, improve safety, and increase efficiency by utilizing these technologies. Healthcare is also being transformed by Industry 4.0, which allows for more tailored and precise medical treatments. Doctors can better understand and diagnose diseases by using big data analytics, IoT devices, and other technologies. Furthermore, 3D printing is being used to create custom prosthetics and implants, and telemedicine allows doctors to monitor patients remotely. Industry 4.0 is causing significant changes in the way firms operate and engage with customers in each of these areas. As technology advances, it is expected that even more novel and inventive Industry 4.0 applications will arise in these and other areas. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Amit Kumar Tyagi, Shrikant Tiwari, and Sayed Sayeed Ahmad; individual chapters, the contributors.
