Abstract One of the significant challenges globally is to address the water crisis for the rapidly increasing population. Wastewater management, remediation, and distribution play an essential role in sustainable development. Emerging research and development in the field of wirelessly connected devices known as the internet of things (IoT) can efficiently monitor each step of water management and remediation in real time. The input from connected sensors and devices is analyzed in state-of-the-art software, suggesting the measures and extent of remediation required for a particular type of wastewater. IoT can provide essential information in every crucial step of wastewater management, such as monitoring, storage, remediation, and distribution. This chapter discusses the role of emerging wireless data transfer technologies for sustainable wastewater management processes. © 2023 selection and editorial matter, Ambar Bajpai and Arun Balodi; individual chapters, the contributors.
